Scholarship Program for Males Enrolled Nursing Programs
The Program
In honor of Roy Munson Father of the Year 2020 – Baltimore MD and in an effort to provide a encourage males to become nurses, FATHERS INCORPORATED has established a scholarship program that creates opportunities for eligible male students, preferably, minority and disadvantaged males enrolled in a Maryland college/universities or state certified/authorized nursing programs, to receive a one-time tuition assistance scholarship up to $500. Eight scholarships may be awarded.
As a “tuition support” scholarship, the funds may be used to cover tuition, books, transportation, and other fees in support of the students’ effort to attain a degree or certificate in the field of nursing.
- Important Deadlines
The 2022-2023 Application for the scholarship must be completed by September 30, 2022.
2. Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must meet the following requirements:
- A resident of Baltimore (City or County), Maryland
- Have a high school diploma or GED and is currently enrolled at a Maryland community college or certified medical program in the field of nursing.
- Have not received an educational grant or scholarship that covers your full cost of attendance at a college, medical institution, or certification nursing program.
- Have an annual adjusted gross income not more than:
- Single household – $30,000
- Married/Two parent household – $60,000
- Participate in Personal interview with the Board of Fathers Incorporated.
3. How to Apply
Complete the on-line application below and submit all required documentation by September30, 2022. Late submissions will not be accepted. In addition to submitting the application, eligible students may be required to participate in a personal interview.
4. How and when will award winners be notified?
Award winners will be notified by phone/email within 30 days after the application is submitted.
5. How and when will the awards be disbursed?
The award will be disbursed directly to the student in the form of a check.
6. Non-Credit Students
Students who plan to apply as non-credit “Continuing Education” students, in a sequence of non-credit courses that lead to licensure or certification in nursing may apply and be considered.
7. Renewing an Award
The FATHERS INCORPORATED Scholarship is a one-time scholarship and is not renewable.
FATHERS Scholarship Application for Nursing Program Students
This form may be used by male students, preferably minority and disadvantaged males, enrolled in a Maryland college or state certified/authorized nursing program to apply for a one-time tuition assistance grant of $500.
Applicant Interview Process: As part of the application process, you will be required to participate in a personal interview. If you are selected, you will be notified by email of the date and time of the interview. The interview will be conducted via ZOOM. Please do not submit an application if you are unable to interview as you will not be eligible to receive a Scholarship (PLEASE NOTE: Application MUST be filled out by student applying; NOT parent.
