The goal of FATHERS’ “Father of the Year Ward” is to identify, acknowledge, and reward ‘deserving fathers’, selected from various US cities experiencing high rates of crime, family, and community affliction, who changed or seriously impacted the lives of their families and communities for the better; fathers whose challenges and triumphs are manifested in their life experience and personal journey, beyond their profession and career achievements – a father whose leadership has had a positive impact on a wide range of people’s lives.

The goal of the “Returning Citizen Program” is to assist nonviolent formally incarcerated fathers in their desire to return to their children, families, and the communities they left behind as benevolent renewed individuals willing and ready to do what’s right and good. The Returning Citizen Program is augmented by an Initiative (180theArc) that offers counseling and technology training to the formally incarcerated which helps them attain job skills, economic self-sufficiency, and restorative justice.
